Programs and Services
Safety
AGC, in partnership with
SAIF Corporation, has an
innovative group workers' compensation program designed specifically for
the construction industry. We provide competitive rates, construction
industry expertise, and consistent performance. This
is a retrospective rating program combined with an up-front discount. A
single retro return is calculated nine months after
the close of the plan year. The group has single anniversary rating date
(October 1). Coverage can be directly written by SAIF account reps or through SAIF-approved agents.
Eligibility
Requirements
The AGC program is
designed for construction and selected construction-related firms of all sizes who are AGC members, have a
demonstrated
commitment to safety and loss control practices, and who meet
established underwriting
standards for the plan. General eligibility guidelines are as follows (exceptions may be
reviewed
on an individual basis):
-
three years experience in a construction related business
-
experience mod of 1.0 or
less
-
three-year average loss
ratio of 65% or less
To receive a quote contact an
approved
SAIF agent or a
SAIF direct writer.
Competitive Rates
AGC's programs provides the competitive edge through competitive rates.
Our up-front discounts, combined with a retrospective return based on
group performance, allows our
participants to receive maximum savings. Since program inception in 1991,
participating AGC group members the have received over
$286 million in net cost savings (up- front discounts,
retro returns, dividends, and program electives).
Construction
Industry Expertise
Contractors have special needs when it come to workers' compensation. That's why AGC and SAIF Corporation have teamed up to provide services specifically targeted for the
construction industry.
Safety and Loss
Prevention/Control
AGC's loss control consultants are hand- picked for their experience in construction and related fields. They are assigned accounts
generally based on location and are committed to visiting personally and directly with each participating firm at least annually. Assistance from an AGC loss control consultant is
just a phone call away. They work hard to prevent claims from occurring in the first place.
Some highlights include:
- Fully-equipped safety vehicles, complete with an assortment of sample policies and
procedures, safety materials, safety videos, video projector, and much more
- Industrial hygiene services and ergonomics assistance
- Assistance with program and policy development
- Assistance with rules/regulations interpretation and dealing with regulatory agencies
- Performing job site visits and evaluations
Claims Management
& Early Return to Work
The claims examiners and
return-to-work consultants from SAIF Corporation who work on the AGC
program are also hand picked for their
construction-industry experience. They are
familiar with the intricacies involved in
construction-related claims and the unique challenges contractors face. SAIF's team of specialists work with the employer to keep claims costs
to a minimum, help maintain good communications with your employees, and can provide innovative solutions to bringing injured workers back to meaningful and productive work while
they are still healing.
Consistent
Performance
AGC's workers' comp program has shown consistent performance over the
years (see chart below). This stability indicates the AGC
workers' comp program is working and effective
through proactive management. We represent one of
the largest non-public group programs in the
state. With size comes clout
- with SAIF, with other industries and associations, and
with the legislature.
Our historic group
loss ratios are predictable and consistently below
industry averages. Although
individual member participants may experience an off year, the predictability and safety
of the larger group assures the individual firm they'll still be eligible
for any potential retro return without penalty. This consistency allows AGC to develop plan elements to ensure upfront
discounts and comfortably predict retro returns.
