Crane Safety Re-Certification |
Description
OR-OSHA administrative rules regarding crane safety require
that persons operating cranes in construction have a
Crane Operator Safety Training Card. The safety
card certifies a
minimum level of crane operator safety
training. Each person who satisfactorily completes the
course of instruction and passes a final examination is
presented a picture
ID card that meets the OR-OSHA
requirements.
Crane Re-Certification
This four-hour course includes the core of basic safety
training as listed below, as well as training in one area
of:

Hydraulic Cranes over & under 50 tons
-
Conventional Lattice Boom Cranes
-
Tower & Whirley Cranes
Overview of the basic safety topics include, but are not
limited to:

Setting up the crane
-
Mental conditioning
-
Center of gravity
-
Leverage
-
Quadrants of operation
-
Calculating weights
-
Leveling the crane
-
Installing wire rope

Pick and carry operations
