Strategies for Dealing with Oregon's New Tax
Requirements
Ballot
measures 66 and 67 passed. Now what? On
January 29, voters approved two new tax
measures that will impact all Oregon
businesses as well as individuals making
more than $125,000 per year. S Corporation?
C Corporation? LLC?: Is one corporate
structure more advantageous than another?
What is the impact to you personally as a
business owner? What new costs can you
expect the next time you renew your Oregon
corporation license? Don L. Pinkham, CPA,
Medford, will lead a discussion on what you
need to know to minimize your tax exposure
in the years to come.
New ODOT DBE NAICS Requirements
The Oregon
Department of Transportation (ODOT) is
adopting a significant rule change that will
impact general contractors and minority-owned
businesses alike.
ODOT has
implemented changes effective March 1, 2010
on how Disadvantaged Business Enterprise
(DBE) participation is credited on projects
with federal funding. Bidders must now
include both the appropriate NAICS code and
a description of the type of work the DBE
will perform with the bid documents. Using
DBEs for work outside their certification
will not be counted for DBE credit and could
cause a prime contractor to be
non-compliant. Find out more about this new
rule and have an opportunity to ask
questions.
Speakers:
Michael Cobb, Manager, and Jill Miller,
Small Business Programs Manager, Oregon
