Upcoming Events

ACE Academy eMentor Program Needs YOU

The Academy for Architecture, Construction and Engineering (ACE Academy) is kicking off their eMentor program. Jan Wierima from Oregon Building Congress has made several presentations at CLC events in the past few months, and many of you expressed interest in becoming an eMentor.

OBC is looking for eMentors in architecture, construction, engineering, and related professions (developers, planners, estimators, marketers, green building experts and you other fabulous industry folks). Individuals will be placed in teams, and teams will be matched with a mixed-discipline team of students (across A, C, and E) and they will pose one or a set of questions every other week. The process will allow you to respond to the questions as you have time to do so.

The real-world connection to learning for students is crucial to their success and progress toward their goals. If you are interested in participating, please contact Jan Wierima or click here.

What is the CLC?

The Construction Leadership Council (CLC) is a group of construction professionals that meet to exchange ideas and grow relationships to bring together all elements of the industry – architects, engineers, general contractors, specialty contractors, and associated businesses and organizations – to improve communications and build a more united construction industry. It provides an opportunity to share ideas about daily issues the construction industry faces and industry knowledge to meet the challenges ahead…and it does this in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

The CLC meets monthly throughout the year, and focuses on improving the construction community through education, community service, networking, and a healthy dose of fun.

Business Plan

Identify

  • Continue to invite current members to participate in CLC meetings and events

  • Select events for CLC members to invite their non-member peers in the construction industry as a recruitment tool

  • Develop relationships with college student chapters and construction management program groups.

Involve

  • Encourage CLC members' involvement in other core AGC activities through inclusion of CLC events, activities, reports, and interests in other AGC forums.

  • Sponsor events with both educational content and social activities geared at younger constructors.

  • Incorporate introductions to AGC services, activities, and benefits into sponsored events, including other AGC committees and councils.

Develop

  • Educational offerings targeted to the needs of new constructors

  • Provide the experience for the CLC Steering Committee in planning events, activities, outreach, and educational opportunities.
